What Bangalore asks a caterer

The questions we are asked most, with the numbers. Every cuisine, occasion and area page carries its own set; these are the ones that come up on the first call.

First-call questions

How much does wedding catering cost per plate in Bangalore in 2026?

A South Indian leaf lunch runs ₹350–₹700 a plate; a North Indian buffet with a live tandoor ₹650–₹1,300; a multi-counter reception ₹1,200–₹2,500. GST at 5% on food, service staff and crockery are shown as separate lines on our quote. These are indicative Bangalore ranges; the number comes from the menu.

How much would catering for a 500-guest Bangalore wedding cost?

At ₹500 a plate, a 500-guest leaf lunch is about ₹2.5 lakh before GST and staff; a 500-guest North Indian reception at ₹900 is about ₹4.5 lakh; a premium multi-counter reception at ₹1,800 is about ₹9 lakh. Most families budget the lunch and the reception separately.

How many live counters should a 500-guest reception have?

Four to six, placed so the queues do not cross. The buffet carries the volume; counters carry the experience. More than six lengthens queues rather than shortening them.

What does a reception dinner cost per plate in Bangalore?

About ₹650–₹1,300 a plate for a North Indian buffet with live tandoor and two counters, and ₹1,200–₹2,500 for a premium multi-counter night with grill, sushi or galouti counters, in 2026.

What does engagement catering cost per plate in Bangalore?

About ₹600–₹1,500 a plate in 2026 depending on format; a plated fusion chef's table sits at ₹1,200–₹2,500.

Can you do a small engagement of 40–60 guests?

Yes — small events are welcome; a plated dinner or a two-counter menu works well at that size. Tell us the number and the kitchen builds to it.

What food is served at a sangeet in Bangalore?

Snack-led: chaat, a live wok, a taco or slider bar, kathi rolls and kebabs, a mocktail bar and a live sweet. Guests eat standing over three to four hours; the menu is built for that.

What does mehendi or sangeet catering cost per plate in Bangalore?

About ₹450–₹900 a plate in 2026 with three to four counters, passed snacks and a mocktail bar.

How much does catering cost per plate in Bangalore in 2026?

About ₹180–₹320 for a simple vegetarian meal, ₹350–₹750 for a South Indian leaf lunch, ₹650–₹1,300 for a North Indian buffet with a live tandoor, ₹900–₹1,800 for a two-cuisine reception with counters, and ₹1,200–₹2,500 for a premium multi-counter night or a plated dinner — food only, before 5% GST. These are indicative Bangalore ranges; RASA's quote is built from the menu.

What does catering for 100, 300 or 500 guests cost in Bangalore?

At ₹500 a plate: ₹50,000 for 100, ₹1.5 lakh for 300, ₹2.5 lakh for 500. At ₹900: ₹90,000 / ₹2.7 lakh / ₹4.5 lakh. At ₹1,600: ₹1.6 lakh / ₹4.8 lakh / ₹8 lakh. Add 5% GST, staff and counter setup. Weddings usually run a lunch and a reception, so budget both.

Is GST included in your per-plate price?

No — GST at 5% on food is shown as its own line, so the per-plate figure is comparable across quotes.

What does "one chef, one cuisine" mean at RASA?

Each of the 25 cuisines on the menu is cooked by a dedicated specialist chef who cooks only that cuisine — with their own masala base, vessels and line at the event. No chef cooks another seat's food.

Why does multi-cuisine catering usually taste the same?

Because one kitchen cooks everything from a shared base gravy and one chef does the tandoor, the wok and the pasta. The fix is structural, not a better recipe.

How quickly do you reply to an enquiry?

With a first menu and a per-plate figure, usually the same day.

Do you do a tasting?

Yes, for weddings and events of size — cooked by the chefs who will cook the day. Ask when you enquire.

What happens after you send the ticket

  1. A written reply, usually the same day. A first menu built for your occasion, the per-plate figure it comes to, and the two or three questions we need settled before the number is firm.
  2. A tasting. For weddings and events of size we cook the shortlist for you before you sign. Each cuisine on the menu is cooked by the chef who will cook it on the day.
  3. The plan for the day. Counters, service staff, timings against your muhurtham or your agenda, and the venue's rules on outside catering, checked with the venue by us.
