Where

Bangalore, neighbourhood by neighbourhood. Then the rest of Karnataka.

RASA caters every part of Bangalore from one kitchen, and travels across Karnataka — Mysore and Tumkur same-day, Mangalore, Coorg, Chikmagalur, Hassan and Hubli-Dharwad with the crew and a mobile kitchen the day before. Each area page below says what that neighbourhood actually asks a caterer for, and which of our seats answers it.

Bangalore

East

Whitefield

Whitefield is the most-searched catering area in Bangalore and the one where "Bengali" and "North Indian" are the modifiers, because the workforce is from everywhere.

South-east

Electronic City

Electronic City searches for Bengali, North Indian and non-vegetarian catering more than any other area.

North

Yelahanka

Yelahanka New Town is the north's housewarming belt, and "Brahmin" and "veg" are what it searches for.

South

JP Nagar

JP Nagar asks for Brahmin caterers, and the Karnataka Madhwa-Smartha and Tamil Brahmin menus from their seats are the core of the work here: upanayanams, shashtipoorthis, gruhapraveshas and muhurtham lunches in the mantapa belt..

South-east

HSR Layout

HSR is the small-party area: house parties of 20 to 60, kids' birthdays, a Bengali lunch for a family from Kolkata.

North

Hebbal

Hebbal is Manyata's catering: corporate lunches, townhalls and awards nights, plus the North Indian dinners the area searches for.

South-east

Sarjapur Road

Sarjapur Road is the fastest-growing housewarming and birthday belt in the city, with farmhouse venues for engagements and receptions.

South

Jayanagar

Jayanagar is the Tamil-Brahmin and Kannadiga-Brahmin heart of old South Bangalore.

West

Rajajinagar

Rajajinagar and the west are Kannadiga wedding country: muhurtham lunches on the leaf, obbattu counters, and Madhwa or Lingayat menus from the Karnataka seat..

South-east

Koramangala

Koramangala is dense with restaurants and thin on caterers, which is why its catering searches are for house parties and small events.

East

Indiranagar

Indiranagar hosts the city's private dinners: plated Continental and Italian evenings, fusion chef's tables for 20 to 40, and cocktail evenings with mezze and sushi.

East

Marathahalli

Marathahalli sits between the Telugu and Kannadiga families of the ORR belt and the offices along it.

South

Basavanagudi

Basavanagudi is where a Karnataka leaf lunch is judged by people who have eaten a thousand of them.

South

Bannerghatta Road

Bannerghatta Road runs from the Dairy Circle hotels to the resorts near the park, and the calendar runs from corporate lunches to resort weddings.

North-west

Malleshwaram

Malleshwaram is the city's Tamil-Brahmin and Kannadiga-Brahmin neighbourhood, and its weddings are leaf lunches in the old mantapas.

East

KR Puram & Old Madras Road

KR Puram and the Old Madras Road belt is housewarming and wedding-hall country for families who moved east in the last decade.

South

BTM Layout

BTM is small-event catering: birthdays, kids' parties, office lunches for the Bannerghatta Road offices.

Centre

Central Bangalore

The centre is the plated seat's ground: hotel ballroom receptions where the family wants an outside kitchen, club dinners, Christmas carveries in Richmond Town and Cooke Town, and the fusion chef's table..

South-east

Bellandur

Bellandur is the densest apartment belt on the Outer Ring Road, and its catering is clubhouse birthdays, housewarmings for families from every state, and office lunches for the ORR campuses.

South

Banashankari

Banashankari is old-South-Bangalore wedding country: Kannadiga and Tamil-Brahmin muhurtham lunches in the mantapas, upanayanams, shashtipoorthis and gruhapraveshas.

North

RT Nagar & Hebbal side

RT Nagar, Frazer Town and Cox Town are where the city's Muslim and Anglo-Indian families host, and the calendar is nikah and walima dinners, Eid tables and Christmas lunches.

North-west

Yeshwanthpur & Malleshwaram West

Yeshwanthpur sits between the Malleshwaram mantapa belt and the Tumkur Road hotels, so the calendar is half Kannadiga muhurtham lunches and half corporate events for the Peenya and Jalahalli campuses.

West

Vijayanagar

Vijayanagar is west-Bangalore Kannadiga wedding country, with the mantapas along Magadi Road and Chord Road booked a year ahead for the muhurtham weeks.

South

Bommanahalli & Hosur Road

The Hosur Road corridor between Silk Board and Electronic City is apartment communities and small halls, and its catering is birthdays, housewarmings and non-vegetarian receptions for families from every state.

South

Kanakapura Road

Kanakapura Road is where south Bangalore goes for a resort or farmhouse wedding without leaving the city's range — an hour from the kitchen, with open-air receptions that need covered counters and a generator plan.

Karnataka

Karnataka

Mysore

Mysore is the second-largest catering market in the state and the one most searched for after Bangalore, with "Brahmin", "Iyengar" and "Muslim" as its modifiers.

Karnataka

Mangalore

Mangalore searches for Catholic, Konkani, GSB and Brahmin catering, and the coastal seat is built around exactly those four tables.

Karnataka

Hubli–Dharwad

North Karnataka eats differently from the south — jolada rotti, ennegayi, shenga chutney, the Dharwad peda — and the Karnataka seat cooks the North Karnataka menu as a separate table.

Karnataka

Coorg (Madikeri, Virajpet)

Coorg is a destination-wedding market with estate and resort venues, and the Coorg seat cooks the Kodava table on its own ground — pandi curry with kachampuli, kadambuttu, akki otti.

Karnataka

Chikmagalur

Chikmagalur is the other estate-wedding market, and the calendar here is resort receptions and estate lunches.

Karnataka

Hassan

Hassan sits between the Bangalore and Chikmagalur calendars, and the kitchen serves it for Kannadiga weddings — vegetarian leaf lunches and the non-vegetarian receptions of the Gowda belt — from the Karnataka seat..

Karnataka

Tumkur

Tumkur is an hour from the kitchen and within the everyday range for Kannadiga weddings and gruhapraveshas from the Karnataka seat, with the North seat travelling for receptions..

Karnataka

Kolar & Chikkaballapur

The Kolar-Chikkaballapur belt is Telugu-Kannada country, and the Andhra and Karnataka seats cook its weddings; the Nandi Hills resorts bring reception work for the North and Continental seats..

Date, head count, the cuisines you have in mind. Enough for the first reply to carry a menu and a number rather than a brochure.

What happens after you send the ticket

  1. A written reply, usually the same day. A first menu built for your occasion, the per-plate figure it comes to, and the two or three questions we need settled before the number is firm.
  2. A tasting. For weddings and events of size we cook the shortlist for you before you sign. Each cuisine on the menu is cooked by the chef who will cook it on the day.
  3. The plan for the day. Counters, service staff, timings against your muhurtham or your agenda, and the venue's rules on outside catering, checked with the venue by us.
