North Indian wedding catering cost in Bangalore

By the kitchen office, RASA · Published 30 Aug 2026 · Bangalore & Bengaluru

A North Indian wedding buffet in Bangalore costs about ₹650–₹1,300 a plate in 2026 with a live tandoor, two paneer dishes, dal makhani, two non-vegetarian mains and live jalebi; a vegetarian-only version sits at ₹650–₹950; a Mughlai-Awadhi reception with live galouti and kacchi biryani runs ₹750–₹1,400. For 300 guests that is roughly ₹2–₹4 lakh of food before 5% GST, staff and counter setup.

What moves the number

  • The tandoor. A live tandoor is the difference between a North Indian buffet and a hot box of naan; it adds ₹200–₹350 a head as a counter but is included in the bands above.
  • Paneer. In-house paneer costs the kitchen more than a supplier's block and is the first thing a Punjabi family notices.
  • Non-vegetarian mains. Butter chicken adds the least; mutton rogan josh and kebab counters the most. The vegetarian-to-non-vegetarian gap is ₹200–₹400 a plate at this tier.
  • Live sweets. Jalebi with rabri fried at the counter adds ₹80–₹150 a head and is the most-photographed thing at the wedding.
  • Chaat. A chaat counter is a separate seat and a separate charge: ₹120–₹250 a head.

What happens after you send the ticket

  1. A written reply, usually the same day. A first menu built for your occasion, the per-plate figure it comes to, and the two or three questions we need settled before the number is firm.
  2. A tasting. For weddings and events of size we cook the shortlist for you before you sign. Each cuisine on the menu is cooked by the chef who will cook it on the day.
  3. The plan for the day. Counters, service staff, timings against your muhurtham or your agenda, and the venue's rules on outside catering, checked with the venue by us.
