Reception catering in Bangalore

The reception is where a multi-cuisine caterer is found out. Ours is where the argument is made: the tandoor chef, the wok chef, the chaat chef and the halwai are four different people.

A reception at RASA is built as a floor plan first: a main buffet from one seat, four to six live counters from others, and a dessert table from the desserts seat. In Bangalore a reception dinner runs about ₹650–₹1,300 a plate for a North Indian buffet with counters and ₹1,200–₹2,500 for a premium multi-counter night in 2026.

A Bangalore reception feeds 300 to 1,500 people over three hours, and most of them arrive in the same forty minutes. The buffet carries the volume; the counters carry the experience; and the plan — where the queues form, which counter opens first, when the dessert table lights up — decides whether anyone eats hot food after eight-thirty.

The menu for a reception here is usually two cuisines and a set of counters: a North Indian buffet and a Chettinad or coastal counter for a southern family; a Hyderabadi and an Awadhi biryani side by side for a Muslim wedding; a plated Continental dinner with a mezze hour for a Christian reception. Each half is a different chef.

Formats

  • Buffet with four to six live counters
  • Plated three-course dinner (Continental seat)
  • Two-cuisine buffet for a mixed family
  • Cocktail hour with mezze, sushi and canapés
  • Dessert table with live jalebi and kulfi

Reception catering in Bangalore — questions

How many live counters should a 500-guest reception have?

Four to six, placed so the queues do not cross. The buffet carries the volume; counters carry the experience. More than six lengthens queues rather than shortening them.

What does a reception dinner cost per plate in Bangalore?

About ₹650–₹1,300 a plate for a North Indian buffet with live tandoor and two counters, and ₹1,200–₹2,500 for a premium multi-counter night with grill, sushi or galouti counters, in 2026.

Can you serve a North Indian and a South Indian menu at the same reception?

Yes — that is the point of the house. Two chefs, two lines, one floor plan.

What happens after you send the ticket

  1. A written reply, usually the same day. A first menu built for your occasion, the per-plate figure it comes to, and the two or three questions we need settled before the number is firm.
  2. A tasting. For weddings and events of size we cook the shortlist for you before you sign. Each cuisine on the menu is cooked by the chef who will cook it on the day.
  3. The plan for the day. Counters, service staff, timings against your muhurtham or your agenda, and the venue's rules on outside catering, checked with the venue by us.
